PETERSFIELD Cricket Club's home pitch off Heath Road faces a race against time to be ready for the start of the summer season, after a motorcyclist churned up the turf last week.

According to police, a motorcyclist broke into the club's ground and roared around the square between Monday, January 24, and Saturday, January 29.

A club groundsman made the disappointing discovery on a routine check of the facilities.
