Disney Plus has released a brand new action-packed series that was filmed in Bourne Woods by the name of Renegade Nell.

Starring Derry Girls star Louisa Harland as Nell Jackson, the series follows the young woman who unexpectedly becomes the most notorious highwaywoman after being framed for murder in 18th-century England. Nell Jackson is forced to live a life of looting and crime with her two sisters.

Along the way she is helped by Billy Blind, a spirit played by Nick Mohammed who helps guide her and give her powers.

The eight-episode series was released on March 29 and many will recognise some of the scenery in the film as Bourne Woods south of Farnham.

The series is written and created by Sally Wainright, best known for her work on Happy Valley and Gentleman Jack.

Renegade Nell’s adventures will continue in a second season, expected to be released sometime in 2025.
