RAIL passengers faced major disruption on the Waterloo-to-Alton line after a wheelchair user was struck by a train at Woking station.
A woman was hit by a train shortly before 8pm on Wednesday, October 14, and taken to a hospital in south London.
The incident led to hour-long delays on South West Train services passing through Woking until around 11pm the same day.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “We were called to Woking station on Wednesday, October 14, following reports of a person being struck by a train.
“Officers attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 7.54pm alongside colleagues from Surrey Police and medics from South East Coast Ambulance Service.
“A 32-year-old local woman was taken to a south London hospital where she remains in a stable condition and continues to receive medical treatment for life-changing injuries.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
