AS part of the Government’s commitment to expand availability of superfast broadband across the UK, East Hampshire has benefited from a £15.2m investment across the county.
It is estimated that almost 25,000 premises in East Hampshire now benefit from coverage as a result of the on-going commercial roll-out programme, with a further 10,540 now receiving superfast broadband coverage as a result of the publicly-funded programme supported by the government, local authorities, and devolved administrations.
The good news came from Ed Vaizey, Minister of State for culture and the digital economy.
East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds said: “I am delighted that more premises are now receiving coverage as a direct result of extra public funds. I do know how frustrating it is for residents and businesses locally who can’t get decent broadband and there are still too many of those across East Hampshire.”
