IT’S 35 years since the very first Dockenfield Day and to celebrate the occasion organisers are turning the clocks back to 1981.
So, for all of those who remember the early 1980s, and even those who don’t, it’s an opportunity to get those clothes out from the back of the wardrobe again. Big hair styles, shoulder pads, lycra and that’s just for the men.
There will be barbecue, tea tent and bar with local beer on tap, as well as the usual mix of children’s entertainers, races, tug-of-war and the renowned dog show. And don’t miss bash the rat, the human fruit machine and many other of the events favourite stalls, plus one or two new attractions.
Dockenfield Day is free to get in and open to all, on the village green on Saturday, June 4, from 2pm onwards.
