ALLEN Parton from Hounds for Heroes, along with his dedicated helpers (human and doggy), visited Sainsbury’s in Alton on Monday.
He was there to celebrate the end of the partnership between the store and the charity. Hounds for Heroes was the Alton store’s Charity of the Year for 2015-16 and it raised more than £5,400 in that period. Throughout the year there have been fundraising events including tombolas, cake sales, sponsored events and bike rides. Children from the Butts School in Alton raised money by carol singing in the store and will be doing the same this year.
Debby Bridger, the store’s PR ambassador, said: “It has been great fun working with Allen and the team. The dogs are real characters, as is Allen, and we have enjoyed raising funds for their work to provide wounded ex-service personnel with assistance dogs.”
