THE sun shone for Pets As Therapy’s sponsored walk starting from the Orvis shop in Lion & Lamb Yard last month.
Patricia Bland, Pets As Therapy voluntary area co-ordinator and temperament assessor, said: “Many people asked us what it was all about so some good publicity for us. Many thanks to all the volunteers, their friends and family for giving up their Saturday morning to come along. Hopefully we will have raised some good funds as well as letting the public know what we do.”
Since its founding in 1983, Pets As Therapy has been at the forefront of community-based animal assisted therapy across the length and breadth of the UK.
Thousands of people of all ages benefit every week from the visits provided by the charity’s volunteers, who visit residential homes, hospitals, hospices, schools, day care centres and prisons.
