BRYONY Dunne of Haslemere Swimming Club kept up the club's long tradition of producing winners when she won two gold medals at this year's Southern Counties Age Group Championships held at Crystal Palace.

It was a fantastic achievement as competition in the lower age bands is extremely fierce.

Bryony, a breaststroke specialist, won both the girls' 11 years 100 metres and 200 metres breaststroke titles in convincing style. And she set championship best times in both events: 1-21.91 in the 100 and 2-53.70 in the 200.

Breaststrokers generally make good individual medley swimmers and Bryony added to her medal haul when she picked up bronze in the 200m individual medley event.

She will be representing Haslemere Swimming Club in all three of these events at the National Championships, to be held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield next month. This is the second year that Bryony has reached the nationals, improving on her single event appearance in 2002.

Haslemere hope she will move up the national rankings and eventually emulate some of her older club-mates and join the Haslemere Swimming Club roll of honour.
