A 25-YEAR-OLD woman was found dead in Sandy Hill on Friday - only three weeks after her brother was brutally stabbed to death in Aldershot.

Leeanne Jones, 25, was found at the home of a friend in Sandy Hill Road, Farnham, at around midday last Friday.

The cause of death is as yet unconfirmed, but it has been reported that Leeanne was believed to have taken a drug overdose.

The news has come in the wake of her brother's bloody murder. Stephen Jones, 27, of Cambridge Road, Aldershot, was stabbed several times in Upper Elms Road, Aldershot, on Thursday, September 23.

He was taken to Frimley Park Hospital, but pronounced dead soon after arrival.

Duane Harris, 25, of Upper Elms Road, Aldershot, was charged with his murder and has been remanded in custody to await trial.

Leeanne was said to have shared a close bond with her brother and was devastated by his death.

A neighbour, who wished to remain nameless, said: "She was on anti-depressants and pain killers. She wanted to be with her brother. She couldn't cope with his death."

Among the flowers left by mourners in the doorway of the ground floor flat where Leeanne died, and where police say she was living, was a card that read: "I love you with all of my heart. Steve will look after you now. You finally got what you wanted. Sweet dreams."

Another card read: "I miss you, Steve. I love you both very much. We'll meet again one day. Look after each other, you will always be in our hearts."

The pair's mother is struggling to come to terms with the double tragedy. She had been planning the funeral of her son and must now go through the agony of burying both her children.

Leeanne's body was found by her friend, Christopher Hawksworth, at his flat on Sandy Hill Road. He called an ambulance immediately.

Paramedics soon arrived, but Leeanne was certified dead at the scene. They feared that the death may have been suspicious and called the police.

A Surrey Police spokesman said: "Police are investigating to establish the circumstances of the death. We can't draw any conclusions until there has been a toxicology report and a range of other tests, which will take weeks, rather than days."

She added: "There is no reason to believe at this time that there was any violence involved in the death."

Just weeks before, family and friends had been laying tributes to Steven in Princes Gardens in Aldershot.

A post mortem examination took place on Leeanne on Tuesday at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, but the cause of death will not be known until the results of the toxicology report are confirmed.

The family have said that they hope to hold both funerals together soon.
