SEUSSICAL, the musical based on the works of Dr Seuss, was St Nicholas’ School’s senior production this year.

Seussical weaves at least 15 of Dr Seuss’ crazy tongue-twisting tales and many of his best-loved and most familiar characters into a fast-paced, energetic, full-length musical by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens.

Many of these characters have never met before but they are brought together on stage and, in the course of the evening, some fall in love, some have desperate adventures and some save the world.

With a diverse musical score and a cast and crew of more than 50 pupils, supported by a 10-piece band, this high-energy production proved to be an “amazing” event.

The play was directed by head of drama Josie Downer and the musical director was Ben Pont.

Josie said: “Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed working together on this lively, colourful and energetic piece; it has been a real team effort. It is such a bright and zany musical and, as well as working hard, the girls have had a great deal of fun.
