A DRUNK woman who attempted to drive from Four Marks to Gloucestershire because her dog was home alone has received a hefty ban.

Aldershot magistrates heard last Thursday that Linda Beswick was nearly three times over the legal drink-drive limit when she was stopped by the police on the A31 near Ropley.

The 46 year old left her husband in the Travelodge during the early hours of January 1 because her dog was alone in their Forest of Dean property.

Beswick, of Augustus Way, Lydney, admitted to one count of driving with excess alcohol.
