WITH Farnham Weyside Rotary Club gearing up for its 2018 charity golf day at Blackmoor Golf Club on Thursday, June 21 - the club has donated the £2,000 proceeds of last year’s event to Prostate Cancer UK.
A cheque was recently presented to Sam Vieira from the charity, to help fund ground-breaking research, drive improvements in treatment, and fight injustice in care for men battling prostate cancer.
In his response Mr Vieira explained how gratefully this donation was appreciated.
This year, the club is raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, based in Farnborough. This charity provides support to patients and families, as well as funds for research.
The recent passing of Lady Tessa Jowell has highlighted the case of brain tumour patients.
There are still a few spaces for teams (or individuals) at this year’s golf day. Full details can be found online at www.farnhamweyside.org.uk, by calling club secretary, John Cattell on 01252 715048 or emailing [email protected].
