NURSERY Road in Alton was closed on Tuesday evening following a single-vehicle crash that left the driver with minor injuries.

The incident happened at 8.20pm when a Mazda 6 ploughed into two parked cars and turned onto its side.

The driver, named by police as Mark McKell, 39, of Ordnance Road, Aldershot, was arrested and later charged with driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

McKell is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on November 30.
