POLICE closed the A31 near Upper Froyle for around three-and-a-half hours on Monday morning after a Peugeot 306 crashed through a brick wall and hit a tree, killing the driver.

Stephen Joseph Fairbairn, 35, an IT consultant from Fortescue Road, Poole, was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
