IT looks like many people will be driving home for Christmas after South West Trains announced plans for engineering works on Christmas Eve.

The “major improvement” work will be taking place between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction on Saturday, December 24.

For Farnham residents, trains to the capital will run on an amended timetable calling additionally at Bentley, while also stopping at Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, Wimbledon and Clapham Junction.

The Christmas Eve engineering works will come just a week after improvement works on Sunday, December 18, where no trains will run between Farnham and Woking.
