AT the Old Bailey on Friday, a Surrey policeman and a civilian worker, charged in connection with a conspiracy to supply 150,000 Ecstasy tablets, were expected to enter their pleas. However, the hearing was adjourned until next month as the prosecution continues to serve its case to the defence.
Judge Christopher Moss QC granted the Crown further time and the defendants, Pc Kevin Davies, 28, and police civilian worker Emma Barnett, 29, are due before the court for a review hearing on July 18.
Davies, based at Guildford, is charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. He is accused of conspiracy to supply cocaine and ecstasy.
The officer is also allegedly concerned in a drugs plot involving 10 kilos of cocaine.
Barnett, who is based at Surrey Police HQ in Guildford, is charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and ecstasy, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Also appearing in court were Daniel Clark, 29, Piers Ravenhill, 30 and Ben Rickwood, 27. They are all charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and ecstasy and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Mark Kneen, 30, faces three charges of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. Jason Brock, 34, and Malcolm Seal, 40, who are accused of perverting the course of justice by falsifying a speeding ticket, did not appear in court.
Davies, of Rye Close; Barnett, of Queen's Court, Alexandra Road, both Farnborough, Hants; Clark, of Sunvale Avenue, Haslemere; Ravenhill, of Ash Hill Road, Ash; Rickwood, of Scotland Farm Road, Ash; and Kneen, of Unwin Road, lsleworth, were all remanded in custody.
Brook, of Purbrook Court, Bracknell, Berkshire, and Seal, of no fixed abode, are on unconditional bail.
