A DUMPER truck and tools worth thousands of pounds have been stolen from two yards in Lampard Lane, Churt.

The thefts occurred between 5.30pm on Monday, January 18, and 7am on Tuesday, January 19.

Thieves gained entry to the first yard by cutting through the padlock on the gate and forced open a metal container full of tools.

Police also received reports of a theft at a neighbouring yard within the same time frame which officers believe is linked.

The intruders gained access to the second yard by forcing open the locked gate and made off with a yellow one-ton, skip-loading dumper truck worth more than £5,000.
