HE did it again - Robin Thompson was once again first in the queue for tickets for this year’s 42nd Farnham Beerex at the Maltings.

Robin, who lives in Walton on Thames, set up camp outside the Farnham Maltings at 11pm on the night before the sale opened on Sunday.

He was joined at 3.30am by Chris Firth who had travelled from Kensington and followed soon after by Andy Giles, Kevin Eagle and Simon Bennett from Tonbridge Wells and Andy McLoughlin from Haywards Heath, with another 120 people behind them.

Among those braving the dry but cold night were Katherine Crisp and Marie-Laurie Able, both of Farnham.

As is the norm, tickets for Saturday lunch time sold out very quickly with all who queued seemingly happy to get the tickets that they wanted.

There are a limited number of Friday night and Saturday night tickets still available which can be purchased online from the Maltings’ box office, as can Thursday night tickets.

This year’s 42nd Beerex will take place from April 12 to 14, promising more than 60 real ales, a special ‘Cumbrian’ bar, ciders and perries, as well as a barbecue and live music.
