WITH a start on the East Street redevelopment ruled out in the current financial crisis, Waverley Borough Council is to consider the early demolition of some of Brightwells' worst eyesores, including the health centre and the bowling club pavilion.
The council's new portfolio holder for East Street, Adam Taylor-Smith, has been looking at the site in detail, pledging to be a new broom and spruce up "an area that really does no credit to the town at all".
