TIMBERS Day Nursery held a royal-themed garden party and open day on Saturday in expectation of the royal baby, who is due any day.
News of the birth of the royal baby is widely anticipated, after the Duchess of Cambridge passed her presumed due date at the weekend. The child will be third in line to the throne – whether it is a boy or a girl.
At Timbers, in College Hill, Haslemere, everyone enjoyed a bouncy castle, making a crown, making pasta jewels, decorating crown biscuits, making fruit skewers and a summer fruit punch. Faye Brown, new nursery manager, said: "The children, parents and staff really enjoyed the day especially as it was so warm and sunny.
"We have recently had a refit so we were excited to show people our newly decorated rooms."
Every child born on the same day as the royal baby is going to receive a specially minted coin to mark the occasion.
