A SUSSEX firm may have raised the bar with its plans to convert a former pub in Petersfield town centre.

Draft plans to convert and extend the former White Hart pub into eight homes have gone down well with Petersfield Town Council.

Previous plans to build 14 homes on the College Street site were rejected and fiercely criticised in October 2010.

But the latest proposals by Genesis Town Planning – which wasn't responsible for the previous bid – are better, according to councillors.
