CHILDREN from Churcher's College Junior School enjoyed a day with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service's education department, led by Dave Potter and Nick Cousens.
The Liphook school housed a specially commissioned fire engine in its playground. Children were able to use to learn more about the highly specialist work carried out by fire crews all over the country.
There were squeals of delight from youngsters as they dressed up in firefighter coats and helmets and the whole "crew" climbed aboard the engine.
The kids were able to "drive" to the fire, which they thought was amazing.
Firefighting duties were the highlight of the day, with every child getting to use a hose to aim water at a fire symbol and knock it down.
