WAVERLEY Council has received a flood of protest against Crest Nicholson's application to dispense with the need to provide a temporary access for construction traffic during the East Street redevelopment.

More than 80 objectors have written to the council, many of them accusing the developer of exaggerating the disadvantages of a temporary access from the A31 across Borelli Walk.
