WAVERLEY Borough Council's East Street scheme threatens to "frustrate and blight" ambitions for a redevelopment that would include the Woolmead.
That's the view of Woolmead owner F&C Reitt.
The claim has emerged among reasons for an eight-year refusal by F&C to sell the former cinema site that it owns and which is needed by Waverley to front the East Street scheme.
The asset management company is suggesting it could itself undertake a joint retail-led mixed redevelopment of the old cinema site with the owner of the adjoining Marlborough Head, Greene King.
