Sir, – In response to the letter from Mr Boyle published in the Farnham Herald on July 25, we can confirm that the development team is distributing a newsletter update on plans for the redevelopment of the East Street area in Farnham. The newsletter is a complete round up of all the feedback we have had on the proposed scheme. It shows the variety of comments and the range of responses that the scheme has so far produced.
The proposals have been the focus of an extensive local consultation programme that started in February this year. This has included the public exhibitions held in Farnham and surrounding villages, two East Street workshops and the meetings with local interest groups, residents' associations, schools and youth groups, the University of the Third Age and the Farnham Chamber of Commerce, among others.
17,500 copies of the newsletter are being distributed to homes in and around Farnham. More copies have been placed at public venues in the town including the town council offices, Citizens Advice Bureau, health centre, sports centre, Gostrey Centre and public library. The newsletter has also been posted on the project website – http://www.eaststreetregeneration.info">www.eaststreetregeneration.info.
If anyone would like an extra copy of this newsletter, please contact us by telephoning 020 7491 0991, e-mailing [email protected]">[email protected], or writing to East Street Regeneration, PPS Ltd, 69 Grosvenor Street, London W1K 3JW.
The comments we have received have been enormously helpful and we would like to thank everyone who has contributed so far. The next step is to revise the scheme in light of all the comments made. These changes are under way at the moment and we will display the updated proposals once they are completed in the autumn.
