WAVERLEY Borough Council's claimed "silent majority" of the public in favour of their East Street development, in the form intended by Crest Nicholson Sainsbury's, have once again maintained their silence.
A public meeting organised last Thursday by The Farnham Society ended in a vote to ask Waverley to rethink the scheme. And just one hand among the 400 or so people present was raised in dissent.
The gathering, controversially boycotted by the council's portfolio holder, Adam Taylor-Smith, confirmed the huge groundswell of public opinion against the Crest Nicholson Sainsbury's development among those actively engaging in the subject.
