PUPILS at St John’s School in Churt donned their Easter bonnets as they gathered at the village church for their annual Easter service.

The children, with the help of their parents, delved deep into their arts and crafts cupboards to make sure their bonnet was ready on time.

During the service, school governors presented a painting of the village to Angela Harper, who recently retired as the school’s headteacher.

Later on that day pupils were let loose as they paraded around the school assembly hall showing off their bonnets – before heading outside for an Easter egg hunt.
