The annual "Walk of Witness" on Good Friday in brilliant sunshine attracted a record number of participants this year.

Around 50 people took up the hour-long Walk of the Cross through the parish

They set off from the Church Centre, in Portsmouth Road, walking to Liphook Station, past Sainsbury's supermarket in Midhurst Road, and to The Anchor pub in The Square. They ended their trek by planting the cross in the gardens of the Methodist Church, in London Road.

An order of service was held along the route, retelling the Good Friday story, singing hymns and offering prayers.

A Service of Witness then took place at the Methodist Church, involving clergy and members of the Anglican, Catholic and Methodist churches.

Another cross had been planted earlier outside St Mary's Church, in Bramshott.

Passages were read from the Bible, while Priest-in-charge, Valentine Inglis-Jones, who was ordained exactly one year ago at St Mary's, took part for the second time in the traditional Walk of Witness.
