The newly-formed group XR Godalming joined forces with Extinction Rebellion members from all over the UK to disrupt roads in the capital and raise awareness of the critical climate crisis.
Police arrested 122 protestors and around half a million people were affected by the Extinction Rebellion climate change protest, which forced the diversion of 55 bus routes.
Most were detained on suspicion of public order offences, while five people were held on suspicion of criminal damage at Shell headquarters.
Local demonstrators have also been making their presence known in Godalming and Guildford high streets, sounding air raid siren alarms and parading flags and banners.
Farnham social worker Ruth Allen said: “There is nothing else left to do. Research, lobbying, petitions, marches, haven’t worked.
“Now we can see and feel the climate and ecological crisis every day.”
