ALTON School A-level students celebrated a superb set of results this week.

With a 100 per cent overall pass rate and 92 per cent of students awarded grades A*-B, these results are even more meaningful given the difficult two years students have experienced over the course of their A-level studies.

High grades were awarded across the curriculum, and 13 subjects had a 100 per cent pass rate of grades A*-B. Students produced excellent work in their Extended Project Qualification, resulting in a 100 per cent A*-A pass rate.

Five A-level students have been at Alton School from the very beginning. Isabel Mitchinson started in the nursery, vice-president Susanna Hinde joined at pre-school, school president Olivia Clarke and school ambassador Magdalene Windsor both joined in reception and Isabel Gibson joined in Year 3.

Headmaster Karl Guest said: “Over the past two years our A-level students have met and overcome one challenge after another, they have missed out on so much, yet each and every one of them has stepped up to the mark and succeeded.

“We are extremely proud of what they have achieved and are confident they will all go onto great things.

“Thank you to everyone who works so hard to support our young people. Your commitment is an example I’m sure our students will follow. Well done everyone.”
