INSPIRATIONAL messages have returned to pavements outside a school to give encouragement to pupils on their first day back.

Children and parents of St Peter’s Primary School in Wrecclesham were greeted with the positive quotes on their walk to school. Messages on the pavements included ‘aim high’, ‘reach for the stars’, ‘you are amazing’ and ‘be a friend’.

The touching messages were once again drawn by Reverend Jacqueline Drake-Smith, vicar of St Peter’s Church, Wrecclesham.

On choosing to write the messages, she said: “I decided to do it because it is a new time for little people and their parents.

“I just wanted to lift their spirits, make them smile.”

Rev Jacqueline later visited pupils at the school on the same day, and described how “they could remember their favourite ones”.

Members of the Farnham Rants Facebook page praised her efforts, with one user commenting: “That’s so nice of her to do that. It was lovely seeing them again this year. A really nice little boost.”

Another said: “This is amazing. Every school should have these messages in stars like on Hollywood Boulevard.”
