ST Nicholas’ School at Church Crookham has celebrated another year of excellent GCSE results, with almost half of the results being the top grades available, A* to A or levels 9 to 7.

Paula Messa-Carmona achieved eight A* grades, two level 8s and a level 9 in mathematics, while Susanna Hale received six A* grades, one A grade, two level 8s and a level 9 in mathematics.

Ellen Pigott was awarded six A* grades, one A grade, one level 7, one level 8 and a level 9 in English language, and Priyanka Patel achieved four A* grades, three A grades, one level 7, one level 8 and a level 9 in English literature.

Overall 100 per cent of the students passed mathematics and English language, English literature and a science; 94 per cent achieved five or more subjects at A* to C, or 9 to 4; and 49 per cent of the subjects were awarded A* to A or 9 to 7.

Headteacher Annette Whatmough said: “I am delighted with this year’s GCSE results. The students have risen to the demands of the new GCSE courses.

“I am especially pleased to note that the number gaining level 9 in the new courses exceeded more than twice the national average.”
