HALE School is appealing for fresh faces to join its governing body and “be a part of the school’s future”.

The primary school in Hale Road was rated ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ elements by Ofsted in July 2017, marking a significant advance on the school’s previous ‘requires improvement’ grading two years earlier.

However, the school is not resting on its laurels and is keen to recruit new governors to support the school in planning for the future and setting targets to ensure that high standards are maintained, whilst holding the leadership and teaching teams to account.

Ian Coates, an existing governor at Hale School, said: “We are ambitious for the future of our children, and for the future of our school, and we are keen to identify local people with the right skills and enthusiasm to join our governing body, and to assist us in achieving that ambition.

“We would particularly value legal skills and experience, but there are a wide range of skills which would be helpful to us, including HR, Finance and IT.

“If you would like to be part of the future of Hale School, and think you have the enthusiasm and the time commitment to join us, please email [email protected] to find out more.”

The Hale School governing body meets five times during the academic year, between September and July. For more information visit the website www.hale.surrey.sch.uk .
