RELIGIOUS education students saw their curriculum “come to life” as four Buddhist monks visited their school.
GCSE students at Farnham Heath End School were taught about the religious philosophies and teachings by Venerable Bhante Samitha, and three monks visiting from Singapore, Korea and Sri Lanka.
Venerable Bhante Samitha has been a monk for 32 years, and has a masters degree in Buddhist philosophy and psychotherapy.
He said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to spend an afternoon in the beautiful school, with such welcoming, kind students and staff."
Head of science Dhanya Birtwistle, who organised the visit, added: “I was very proud of how the students participated, behaved and communicated with the monks.
“They behaved with the utmost maturity and respect.”
