YOUNG artists from Weydon School in Farnham enjoyed a visit to the Tate Modern Art Gallery in London.
Year 9 students were able to experience art in a gallery setting last month, providing stimulus for their new project ‘Urban Landscapes’.
They spent the day researching a myriad of different artists and understanding their techniques.
The variety of artists on show enabled students to appreciate the breadth of materials artists use in today’s fast-paced society and filled them with creative ideas to bring back to the studio spaces at Weydon.
Students took full advantage of the weather and spent time photographing and drawing the London skyline in order to provide primary images for their project.
Srt teacher Charlotte Mulley said: “I was very impressed with the student’s focus during the day.
“We were blessed with glorious sunshine which enabled us to be outside. A great day was had by all and we look forward to seeing their artwork inspired by the visit.”
