CHURCHER’s College Junior School marked the centenary of the First World War with a poppy installation in their entrance hall.

At a special remembrance assembly children from the Liphook school welcomed 94-year-old World War Two veteran, Arthur Bailey, a first-class trained airborne soldier, who recalled his part in the D-Day Landings, as well as Corporal Montgomery Buick, an SAS Falklands veteran.

Both shared their experiences and memories, followed by the playing of The Last Post and a two-minute silence.

Children also spoke to clients from the Day Centre about their war time experiences and they added their own messages to the art installation.
