Bohunt School welcomed 35 Chinese students as part of Bohunt Education Trust’s (BET) largest cultural exchange programme yet.
The exchange, in association with UK China Education, saw students from Guangzhou complete one to two weeks of education at the school, while staying with the families of students.
The exchange students undertook a jam-packed itinerary to integrate them with British school life and to gain a taste of what it’s like to be a Bohunt student.
Programmes ranged from participating in after-school class activities with the debating society, to excursions to London and the British Museum, Oxford, Portsmouth Harbour and the famous Warner Brothers studios.
Their time at the school culminated in a special closing ceremony, which was an opportunity to reflect on their experiences and relationships made during the exchange.
The exchange is part of Bohunt’s innovative and global approach to education, when 75 Chinese students will be visiting three secondary schools across the trust.
With plans to open a school in China in the coming years, the programme reflects the BET’s international outlook .
Phil Avery, director of education for Bohunt Education Trust, said: "We were delighted to launch our largest cultural exchange yet.
"We have championed international partnerships and programmes, such as exchanges and homestays, for many years.
"They provide a brilliant opportunity for our students and staff, and the students from Guangzhou, to integrate, collaborate and share experiences of different cultures and approaches to education."
