THROUGHOUT Armistice Week, Midhurst Rother College students and staff worked within the college and the local community to mark the 100th anniversary of the ending of the First World War.

Using resources from the Midhurst U3A WWI War Memorial Project, memory boards were created for each of the Great War soldiers remembered on the college’s war memorial.

They were also placed in a poppy field installation at outside the college. Family and friends of Corporal David O’Connor, who attended Midhurst Grammar School and was killed in Afghanistan in October 2014, joined a memorial assembly and friends and neighbours came in to talk about their memories and experiences of the Second World War and conflicts since.
