EGGAR’S School in Alton has renamed its class of 2021 ‘Our New Heroes of 2021’!

They came in to collect their GCSE results much earlier this year, after experiencing another most unusual year since Covid-19 entered all our lives in March 2020.

Patrick Sullivan, headteacher of Eggar’s School, said: “I am so proud of this year group, they’ve worked so hard throughout the last 18 months of this most unusual year and today, finally, they got their just rewards.

“There were some fantastic results achieved and thoroughly deserved. 

“I would also like to thank all the staff who have worked so hard to support the students in achieving such excellent results this year, and who have very carefully followed all the DfE Guidance and been so professional in their assessment practice.”

In particular, the following students got some stunning GCSE results:               

* Matthew Cooke with 3 grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 6.

* Daniel Ebbutt with 6 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8 and 3 Grade 7s.

* Lillie Ewins with 8 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s.

* Evie Goros with 4 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7.

* Joseph Gregory with 4 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7

* Anais Kelly with 7 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7.

* Henry Loomis with 3 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7, 2 Grade 6s and 2 Grade 5s.

* Borre Luijken with 4 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and 2 Grade 6s.

* Hazel McRiley with 5 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s

* Hope Pattenden with 5 Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s.

* Ross Watts with 6 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s.
