AWARD-winning garden designer Kate Savill led The Royal Junior School’s popular annual Grow For It event.
Kate, who runs her own practice in Bristol and has designed and built two RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens, was joined by hundreds of families.
Visitors aged under 11 enjoyed taking part in outdoor activities, including pond dipping, mini- beast hunting, painting a rock bug, whittling a wand, making a bug hotel and planting a pot to take home.
The free annual event is held by the school to connect children with nature by increasing their understanding of the world around them.
Kate said: “Gardening goes hand in hand with nature conservation.
“It is so important for us all to think about our impact on the environment and children are never too young to learn. ”
Would-be Royal reception class pupils also enjoyed the junior school grounds at a Discovery Day.
