HIGH achievers at Milford’s Rodborough School enjoyed being in the spotlight at its annual awards evening to celebrate their successes in attendance, academic achievement, personal progress and community work.

Special guests were Waverley Mayor Chris Storey, Godalming Mayor David Hunter, Godalming borough councillor Liz Wheatley, Witley Parish Council clerk Fiona Fox and Godalming and Woolsack Rotary Club representative Ian Smith.

Chairman of governors Dr Anthony Klein presented more than 180 awards at the event, during which guests were treated to solo performances by three students of ‘Standchen’ by Schubert, ‘Playful Pony’ by Blaz Pucihar and ‘Rondo’ by Ivan Foster.

Headteacher Matthew Armstrong-Harris said: “This event is always one of the highlights of the school year.

“To see so many students receiving awards for progress, endeavour, excellence and effort is inspiring.

“I would like to thank our staff for their ongoing commitment, our local community for their ongoing support and all of the awards evening sponsors.”
