THERE were smiles all round at St James’ Primary School, Elstead, when a much-enlarged adventure play area was unveiled.

With the help of school council members, headteacher Valerie Elliott declared the trim trail officially open on Monday, April 29, after 18 months of fundraising and three weeks of building work.

Mrs Elliott congratulated the school council who helped design the area, choosing play equipment which challenges their climbing and balancing skills while encouraging imaginative play and endless fun.

And with the school council scoring the new play area ten out of ten, it’s set to do just that!

Financing the equipment was a collaborative effort between the school and its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

PTA chair Janine Harling praised the efforts of the PTA team and all the St James’ parents who support the wide range of events the association runs throughout the year.
