Children at Hollycombe Primary went to school on Red Nose Day last Friday wearing something red with their uniform.
There were plenty of varieties, from red noses, red pinafore dresses, red tights, red shorts, red shirts and even some red hair. They all made an effort to support Comic Relief, raising a total of £114 for the charity.
This year’s Red Nose Day hosts Lenny Henry, Clara Amfo and Rob Beckett announced on BBC TV, just after midnight, the charity had raised a massive total of £63,548,668.
Comic Relief was founded in 1985 by comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Lenny Henry in response to famine in Ethiopia.
The highlight of its appeal is Red Nose Day, when groups and organisations take part in fundraising events.
During its 34-year history, the charity, which also includes Sports Relief, has raised more than £1 billion for disadvantaged people living in the UK and around the world.
