ICELAND was the destination for 29 senior students and three staff from St Nicholas’ School in Church Crookham this Easter.
After flying into Reykjavik, they began their incredible five-day exploration of Iceland.
The students (pictured) saw powerful waterfalls and volcanoes, hiked up the Sólheimajökull glacier and marvelled at Iceland’s stark black sand plains and molten lava at close hand.
They also luxuriated in steaming water pools and steam rooms, saw how Iceland’s geothermal power is harnessed to grow tomatoes and visited the geyser Strokkur.
“It was an incredible trip,” said St Nic’s head of geography Jan Coombe.
