ALTON Convent School’s lower sixth girls have taken to the woods on a team-building and leadership course which saw them carrying out survival techniques in Oxfordshire.
It was part of the Bushcraft leadership and team-building course and over the weekend the students, who were divided into two tribes before entering the woods, were taught how to start a fire and survival techniques and had to tackle a ‘blind’ obstacle course.
It was a close contest with the Silvaincendi tribe the ultimate winners.
Pancakes were a welcome treat for their final breakfast, as the pupils returned home exhausted, yet invigorated, by the experience.
At Alton Convent School, sixth-form students benefit from an enriching educational experience as they make the transition to university life. Tailored careers support from dedicated staff is further enhanced by strong industry links.
The sixth form also works closely with partner schools St Joseph’s in Reading, Salesian and Winchester College for social and academic enrichment opportunities such as the Winchester Symposium, Oxford Debating, and the ever-popular summer prom.
It also boasts an outstanding academic record.
