YOUNGSTERS at an infant school in Badshot Lea celebrated May Day in traditional style.

Every one of Badshot Lea Village Infant School’s 145 children took part and performed a maypole dance on the playground last Tuesday.

They danced around a colourful maypole, with parents, grandparents and friends watching.

Tea and cake were provided by the Friends of Badshot Lea Village Infant School and the school council helped the Badshot Lea Bloomers with a plant sale.

Although the school has not yet got a total, headteacher Gemma Ball said it was “another wonderful community event”.

The children will be performing again at St George’s Church, Badshot Lea, during the parish fete on Saturday, June 15.

Taking place from midday to 3.30pm, there will also be a bar, barbecue and games.
