“The move to King Edward’s is an exciting one for me,” she said. “I relish the challenges it brings and welcome the opportunity to apply my skills and experience in a new environment.

“While there are some clear similarities between King Edward’s and my previous school, I love the fact that King Edward’s offers pupils a choice of academic pathways, in offering A-level or the IB. I’m also attracted to the diversity and international nature of the student population.

“The genuine commitment to the strong bursary tradition, which is the cornerstone to the school’s evolution, represents a progressive culture – and one to which I wholeheartedly subscribe.”

Mrs Hallam has spent four years working for The Careers Group, providing a service for the University of London and managed the careers service in a girls’ school and holds a post graduate diploma in careers guidance. “In addition to providing careers counsel for all pupils at King Edward’s, my role also encompasses years seven and eight at King Edward’s partner school, Barrow Hills,” she said.

“My priority is to ensure every student has access to this careers resource and I will be working with individuals to help them analyse their abilities and skills to facilitate a seamless transition into the next stage of their education.”

Mrs Lyttle, who joined King Edward’s 10 years ago as an English teacher, will be responsible for the 36 boarding and day girls in addition to teaching pupils aged 13 to 18.

“It is always a privilege to be given the opportunity to play a pivotal nurturing role in the growth and development of our pupils,” she said.
