MONT-Saint Michel beckoned for pupils from St Ives School, who spent a week in France to improve their language skills.

The students from years five and six stayed at le Chateau de la Baudonniere in Normandy, visited Villedieu market, learned how to make bread, and enjoyed an evening of bowling or archery.

Headteacher Kay Goldsworthy said: “The most wonderful thing about this trip is that the girls came back to school with so much more confidence speaking French and didn’t realise how much they were learning as the trip was such good fun.”

Pupils from years three and four enjoyed three days away at The Mill on the Brue Outdoor Activity Centre in Somerset, doing team building activities.
