HOLLYWOOD star Hugh Bonneville was special guest at a garden party hosted by Haslemere Museum for its members.

The award-winning museum is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year. As an independent registered charity, it is responsible for raising all its own funds and relies entirely on donations, bequests, sponsorship, and hire fees to keep going.

Becoming a member is an opportunity to support the museum, and a chance to get behind the scenes and discover more, receive priority booking for events including the increasingly popular firework and bonfire evening, enjoy members’ only events, and benefit from generous discounts on family workshops and events as well as a discount in the shop.

Museum curator Julia Tanner,said: “Everyone who attended the garden party had such an enjoyable evening and we want to thank all of those who came and shared such a wonderful occasion with us.

“We pride ourselves in engaging with the community and the membership scheme not only helps us to do that, but also helps towards our financial sustainability.

“It is an ideal way to support the museum and see it safeguarded for future generations to enjoy.”
