DAVID Griffiths has been announced as the new headmaster of Daneshill School, near Hook from September 2017.

He joins Daneshill from St John’s On-The Hill in Chepstow where he has been acting headmaster and deputy head since January 2015.

David is relocating from Chepstow with his school teacher wife Becky and their three young children Lucy, 6, Llywelyn, 3, and Gwenllian, one.

Graduating with a BA in ancient and medieval history from the University of Cardiff, David has held prestigious posts at Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls and Howell’s School in Cardiff.

David is a keen musician and sportsman enjoying rugby, football and squash.

Daneshill is a leading independent day school in Stratfield Turgis, near Hook for boys and girls aged three to 13 years old.

The school has always been synonymous with happy children who achieve great things both inside and outside of the classroom.

Over the last few years the efforts and talents of the year eight pupils have been recognised by some of the leading secondary schools in the country with awards being won to Bradfield College, Lord Wandsworth College, Marlborough College, St Swithun’s School, Wellington College and Winchester College.

New head David Griffiths said: “I am delighted and honoured to be joining Daneshill School and its community. I have been extremely impressed by the qualities and energies of the children as well as the passion of the staff.

“I’m looking forward to an exciting future at the school; building on past successes and continuing to cement the school as one of the leading co-educational Prep Schools in the area.”
